MEDIA ADVISORY: Garbarino Announces Subcommittee Hearing on Federal Civilian Cybersecurity Programs

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Homeland Security Subcommittee on Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Protection Chairman Andrew Garbarino (R-NY) announced a hearing next Tuesday, September 19 at 10:00 AM ET, to examine the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Federal Civilian Executive Branch cybersecurity programs, specifically the National Cybersecurity Protection System and the Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation Program.
“Amid an increasingly complex cyber threat landscape, Congress is resolved to ensure CISA can protect federal information technology infrastructure and support agencies with valuable security tools to achieve a stronger defense posture,” Chairman Garbarino said. “Next week’s hearing is an opportunity to examine how CISA’s two flagship federal cybersecurity programs have evolved since their inception and how we can improve them as the agency matures and adapts to address the threats of today.”
