The Homeland Security Committee Majority Staff will begin evaluating applications for the Spring Internship Program of 2018 on September 12th. The deadline for Spring internship applications is Sunday, November 26th.
All candidates should be hardworking, professional, and quick learners. Strong oral and written communication skills and a close attention to detail are required. Duties include assisting staff with substantive research projects, press matters, preparing for Committee hearings and markups, and the daily operation of the office. The Committee will provide DC Metro (WMATA) travel benefits.
Additionally, the press shop is accepting applications for a Spring 2018 PRESS intern to assist in a fast-paced communications operation. All candidates should possess the same criteria as standard Homeland Security Committee internship applicants in addition to a strong interest in traditional and digital media skills. Duties include compiling daily press clips, drafting media content, assisting with social media, event planning, and more.
