ICYMI: Homeland Republicans Sound the Alarm on Threats Still Present From Biden’s Open-Borders Policies
June 30, 2025
WASHINGTON D.C. — This week, House Committee on Homeland Security members outlined for the American people the threats still facing the country due to the Biden-Harris administration’s open-borders policies, including potential terrorists, Special Interest Aliens from countries like Iran, and members of the violent Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua (TdA)
On Tuesday, Subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence Chairman August Pfluger (R-TX) joined Fox Business’ Mornings with Maria to sound the alarm on potential national security threats who entered the country during the Biden-Harris administration—especially amid conflict abroad:
“I continued to ask Mayorkas and all the cronies that let millions of people into our country illegally, many of whom we have no idea where they are. But the main question was: Do you have people inside the United States that you know match the terror watchlist that we don’t know where they are? And the answer to that was yes, and that’s what we’re really worried about here…What about those that we don’t know where they are––that slipped through the cracks? That’s the danger of not having a secure border.”
On Wednesday, Rep. Brad Knott (R-NC) joined The Fine Point to discuss how his “Tren de Aragua Border Security Threat Assessment Act,” which was advanced out of the Committee this week, will address a threat to our communities:
“They’re here illegally and they have made a real proficiency at embedding into our communities, and this bill essentially orders the study and then an action plan on how we can work together both in federal law enforcement, state law enforcement, and local law enforcement to address this threat efficiently. It does no good to take off one or two people, one or two gangs, so on and so forth. We need a holistic approach to this to this gang, and we need to take them down as quickly and efficiently as possible.”
On Wednesday, Rep. Knott also spoke to Ali Bradley of NewsNation to discuss his legislation and the potential for other national security threats on U.S. soil:
“The problem with TdA is, they’ve had years and years and years, given their close proximity to the country, and they do have roots. They are underneath the surface right now. They are actively working to strengthen their presence and just because we don’t see them, does not mean that they are not operating. I saw that in my career in law enforcement… Arresting one person at a time—that’s not going to cut it, and this bill really empowers law enforcement to tackle this problem.”
On Tuesday, Rep. Evans highlighted on SiriusXM Patriot’s The Wilkow Majority why he cosponsored the “Tren de Aragua Border Security Threat Assessment Act,” which would help ensure DHS can stay ahead of the threats posed by TdA to our communities:
“It’s bringing the issue to light and making sure that we have the tools and the resources to be able to crush in this particular instance, Tren de Aragua, which is of personal interest to me because Denver, Colorado, right now is their national headquarters—as a result of the sanctuary state policies of Colorado.”
On Thursday, Chairman Pfluger joined Fox Business’ Varney and Co. to discuss the importance of operational security in the intelligence community:
“U.S. code specifically says that they have 48 hours to then notify Congress, which they did, so who is this Deep State leaker solely using classified information to denigrate the President and downplay the success of these strikes? Which, by the way, werea massive strategic success.”
On Friday, Rep. Knott joined SiriusXM Patriot’s The Wilkow Majority to discuss the Biden-Harris administration’s open-borders policies, which created a heightened threat landscape on U.S. soil:
“Our adversaries are here because of the policies the Democratic party has implemented and fought for… I prosecuted this at the federal level with organized crime investigations for almost a decade—there are people who come to this country for the sole purpose of either harming the country or enriching themselves by committing crimes.”
