MEDIA ADVISORY: Gimenez Announces Subcommittee Hearing on Security Threats in the Indo-Pacific

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Transportation and Maritime Security Chairman Carlos Gimenez (R-FL) announced a hearing next Thursday, September 28, at 10:00 AM ET, to examine security threats in the Indo-Pacific and the U.S. Coast Guard’s importance in the region.

“As Communist China becomes more assertive and operates under the threshold of traditional conflict, the U.S. Coast Guard’s unique capabilities and mission continue to play a vital role in ensuring access to Indo-Pacific waters remains free and open,” Chairman Gimenez said. “I look forward to hearing from our distinguished panel of witnesses on ways the U.S. can fill crucial security gaps to further safeguard economic security for our nation, our allies, and partners in the region.”
