Rogers Statement on London Bridge Attack

WASHINGTON — Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Ala.), ranking member of the House Homeland Security Committee, today released the following statement on yesterday’s terrorist attack on the London Bridge. Law enforcement confirmed that the man responsible for the attack was convicted for terrorism offenses in 2012 and was released from prison in December 2018.

“Yesterday’s attack is a stark reminder that our fight against ISIS and international terrorism continues. The United States and our allies must work together to ensure that ISIS fighters and those committed to its violent ideology are brought to justice in a manner in which they no longer pose a threat to the public.

“I commend the brave bystanders who leapt into action and helped stop yesterday’s attack. We stand by our friends in the United Kingdom at this time of tragedy.”
