Rep. Rogers Statement on the US-Canada and US-Mexico Joint Initiatives

WASHINGTON – Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Ala.), House Homeland Security Committee ranking member, released the statement below following Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Department of Homeland Security Acting Secretary Chad Wolf’s announcement that the United States will be restricting all non-essential travel across our northern and southern borders.

“While we need to maintain our economic partnerships with Canada and Mexico, the two joint initiatives announced today address the reality that we must take additional measures to stop coronavirus from spreading further,” Ranking Member Rogers said. “Thank you to Canada and Mexico for their collaboration and partnership during this trying time, and the Trump Administration for their continued diligence. Only through working together can we flatten the curve and curb the spread of COVID-19.”
