MEDIA ADVISORY: Pfluger Announces Hearing on Transnational Criminal Organizations

WASHINGTON, D.C. — House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Counterterrorism, Law Enforcement, and Intelligence Chairman August Pfluger (R-TX) announced a hearing next Wednesday, June 7, at 2:00 PM ET to examine the threats posed to the U.S. homeland by transnational criminal organizations (TCOs).

“The Biden administration has created a border crisis with no consequences for cartels and human traffickers but deadly consequences for American citizens. Empowered by the chaos over the last two years, transnational criminal organizations have trafficked enough deadly fentanyl into our communities to take a record number of lives,” Chairman Pfluger said. “These cartels also endanger the lives of migrants, especially women and children, who are smuggled across our borders and often abandoned in dangerous conditions or delivered to stash houses for continued abuse. As we face this growing crisis, it is not only crucial to support our dedicated Border Patrol and Homeland Security Investigations agents along with state and local law enforcement as they disrupt the operations of TCOs in the U.S. homeland—we must end the reckless policies that have enabled them.”
