Internships

An internship with the House Committee on Homeland Security gives interns the opportunity to become immersed in homeland security policy and to gain valuable, firsthand experience working with a House committee. Interns will have the opportunity to collaborate with staff, attend meetings, briefings, hearings, and assist with projects on a wide range of topics.

Intern Duties:

  • Assisting policy and communications staff with projects
  • Helping to set up the committee room before and after events
  • Sitting in on hearings and meetings
  • Supporting the day-to-day operations of the committee
  • Completing additional tasks that may arise

Applying for an Internship:

The committee offers spring, summer, and fall internship programs. The spring internship runs from January to early May. Our spring internship application is closed. The summer internship runs from May to early August. The fall internship runs from mid-August to mid-December
