Internship Overview:

An internship with the House Committee on Homeland Security gives interns the opportunity to become immersed in homeland security policy and gain valuable, firsthand experience working with a House Committee. Interns will have the opportunity to collaborate with staff, attend meetings, briefings, and hearings, and assist with projects on a wide range of topics related to securing the homeland.

Intern Duties:

Assisting policy and communications staff with projects, helping to set the hearing room before and after hearings, sitting in on hearings and meetings, assisting with the day-to-day operations of the committee including answering phone calls, and helping complete additional tasks that may arise.

Applying for an Internship:

The Committee offers a spring, fall, and summer internship that is broken up into two parts of seven weeks. The spring internship runs from January to early May. The first section of the summer internship runs from May to late June and the second section runs from late June to early August. The fall internship runs from mid-August to mid-December.
