WASHINGTON – Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Ala.), ranking member of the House Homeland Security Committee, today released the following statement on the terror attack at the Corpus Christi Naval Air Station in Texas.
“I applaud the quick response of the security team at the front gate of the Corpus Christi Naval Air Station. Their heroic actions prevented this attack from being a tragedy. “Foreign terrorist organizations remain a significant threat to our homeland. Al Qaeda and ISIS maintain the capability to recruit and radicalize individuals to their twisted, violent ideology. We must remain vigilant and steadfast in our commitment to target these groups overseas, continually improve vetting of individuals seeking to enter the U.S., maintain robust law enforcement capabilities within the United States, and counter their false ideology.”
