MEDIA ADVISORY: Chairman Garbarino Announces Oversight Hearing with CISA, TSA, S&T
January 14, 2026
WASHINGTON, D.C. –– Today, House Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Andrew R. Garbarino (R-NY) announced a hearing for next week to conduct oversight of the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and Science and Technology Directorate (S&T):
“Today, our civilian and government networks, transportation systems, and critical infrastructure face an increasingly complex and dangerous threat environment driven by sophisticated adversaries, emerging technology, expiring federal authorities, and persistent bureaucratic inefficiencies. Twenty-five years after 9/11 and as America prepares to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2028 Olympics, the stakes have never been higher. Close coordination between Congress and the Trump administration, as well as strong alignment across DHS, is essential to ensure we can deter, disrupt, and respond to evolving threats to the homeland. I look forward to strengthening this Committee’s partnership with CISA, TSA, and S&T leadership so we can better support each of their core missions and safeguard the systems Americans rely on every day.”
