Chairman Green Applauds Senate Confirmation of CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott

June 18, 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, House Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Mark E. Green, MD (R-TN) issued the following statement applauding the Senate’s confirmation of Rodney Scott to serve as U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) commissioner:

“Rodney Scott is the right man to lead Customs and Border Protection at this crucial moment in our nation’s history. As the Trump administration works to undo the damage caused by the Biden-Harris administration’s radical open-borders, anti-enforcement policies, we will need experienced, principled, and dedicated men and women leading the charge. Having served for decades as a Border Patrol agent, and then as chief of the Border Patrol, Commissioner Scott understands CBP’s mission, and the needs and challenges of those who carry it out every single day. I am so thankful that President Trump nominated him, and I look forward to his leadership at CBP, as the agency works to secure our borders and safeguard our homeland from threats of all kinds.”
