Katko, Garbarino Applaud CISA Joint Cyber Defense Collaborative

WASHINGTON, DC – Rep. John Katko (R-NY), Ranking Member of the House Committee on Homeland Security, and Rep. Andrew Garbarino (R-NY), Ranking Member of the Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Protection & Innovation Subcommittee, applauded the formation of CISA’s Joint Cyber Defense Collaborative:

“We want to congratulate Director Easterly, Executive Assistant Director Goldstein, and the entire CISA team on the stand up of the Joint Cyber Defense Collaborative, leveraging the authorities provided in the FY21 National Defense Authorization Act. The JCDC will greatly improve CISA’s risk management partnership across the critical infrastructure community and allow them to collaborate with the interagency and private sector to better defend networks and share information on cyber threats. We are also pleased to hear about the initial set of companies that have lined up to partner with CISA on this important effort, as public-private collaboration is essential to combating increasingly emboldened cyber adversaries. The JCDC represents the type of integration with stakeholders we expect CISA to be promoting at such a pivotal moment for our nation’s cyber resilience – as ransomware and other threats impact vital functions in unprecedented ways. We look forward to working with Director Easterly to ensure the JCDC is able to realize its full potential.”
