MEDIA ADVISORY: Subcommittee Chairman Gimenez Announces Hearing on Identity Management Improvement

WASHINGTON, D.C. — This week, the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Transportation and Maritime Security, led by Chairman Carlos Gimenez (R-FL), announced a hearing on December 5, 2023, at 2:00 PM to examine the status and challenges around the implementation of the REAL ID Act. The hearing will also explore potential digital solutions and improvements for identity management and digital security enhancement for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
“Customer service and safety should be an absolute priority for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). As Chairman of the Transportation and Maritime Security Subcommittee, I have spearheaded initiatives to provide for a safe, secure, and speedy airport experience for all traveling Americans,” Chairman Gimenez said. “Congress passed REAL ID over 18 years ago and I look forward to hearing from witnesses on the ongoing challenges the program is facing.”
