Katko Statement on Conviction of British ISIS Member El Shafee Elsheikh

WASHINGTON, DC— Rep. John Katko (R-NY), Ranking Member of the House Committee on Homeland Security, issued the following statement on the conviction of British ISIS member, El Shafee Elsheikh for the kidnapping and death of four Americans.

“While nothing will take the pain away from these four families, justice has been served today. This country will not tolerate any attempt to inflict terror on the American people here at home or abroad. We must remain committed to combating the threat of terrorism – whether foreign or homegrown. It is imperative that we redouble our counterterrorism efforts utilizing a whole of government approach which prioritizes collaboration among federal, state, local, and private sector stakeholders.”
