Katko Statement on Ransomware Task Force Report

WASHINGTON, DC – Rep. John Katko (R-NY), Ranking Member of the House Committee on Homeland Security, released the following statement on the Institute for Security & Technology’s Ransomware Task Force Report:

“This report and the collaboration from a wide range of stakeholders that went into its recommendations, represents a serious step forward in what must be a full court press to finally gain the upper hand on the ransomware epidemic. I look forward to a robust discussion on the path forward during our hearing next week. As we look to marshal all available government resources, I encourage CISA to look for opportunities to leverage the Joint Cyber Planning Office that was created in the FY2021 NDAA to ‘coordinate cybersecurity planning and readiness across the federal government and between public and private sectors for significant cyber incidents and malicious cyber campaigns.’”
