WASHINGTON – Energy and Commerce Committee Republican Leader Greg Walden (R-OR) and Homeland Security Committee Republican Leader Mike Rogers (R-AL) released the following statement after the House unanimously voted to extend the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards program (CFATS).
“Since the September 11th terrorist attacks, CFATS has played a vital role in keeping our high-risk chemical facilities secure through its use of compliance standards that fit the unique challenges faced by each facility. This is not your garden variety regulatory program; it is vital to our national security. We thank our Senate colleagues for coming together to extend this important program for 3 years and we are proud to join in supporting this effort on the House floor today,” Walden and Rogers said.
