Rogers Statement on King Retirement

WASHINGTON  Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Ala.), ranking member of the House Homeland Security Committee, today released a statement following Rep. Peter King’s (R-N.Y.) announcement that he intends to retire from the House of Representatives at the end of the 116th Congress. King is a former chairman of the committee.

“Rep. King has always been a stalwart defender against international terrorism, especially in the uncertainty following the September 11th terrorist attacks. He played a critical role in standing up the Department of Homeland Security and ensuring that the department has the resources and authorities it needs. Pete and I have served together on the Homeland Security Committee since its creation. His leadership and contributions will be missed.”
