Rogers Statement on Ratcliffe Nomination to be DNI

WASHINGTON – Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Ala.), ranking member of the House Homeland Security Committee, today released a statement following President Trump’s announcement that he intends to nominate Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-Texas) to be director of national intelligence. Ratcliffe has served on the committee since 2015.

“Our nation faces new and emerging threats from rival nation-states, transnational criminal organizations and other bad actors across the globe. Strong leadership at the helm of our national intelligence operation is critical to keeping our nation safe. Rep. Ratcliffe is an excellent pick to be director of national intelligence. His experience on the Homeland Security Committee and as former Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Protection, & Innovation Subcommittee chairman will serve him well in this new role. I thank Director Coats for his leadership and years of public service.”
