Katko On ISIS Leader Killed In U.S. Special Operations Raid

WASHINGTON, D.C.— Rep. John Katko (R-NY), Ranking Member of the House Committee on Homeland Security, released the following statement on ISIS leader Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi being killed in U.S. Special Operations raid in Syria:

“As we see renewed threats to the homeland from international terrorism, it is essential that we continue to arm our homeland security and defense personnel with the tools necessary to identify and neutralize a threat before it reaches our shores. I commend our brave service members for eliminating this hardened terrorist from the battlefield. It is vital that we maintain a strong homeland and defense apparatus to combat the constant and evolving threat from terrorism. We must never be complacent in this fight.”
