Rahm Emanuel once said, “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things that you think you could not do before.” Well, it seems Speaker Pelosi is heeding her former colleague’s advice. While Americans are trying to figure out how to keep their loved ones safe and pay this month’s rent, Speaker Pelosi is trying to use this outbreak to her political advantage. It’s shameful to put forth this left-wing nonsense.  The House Democrats’ bill is just a wish list of everything they haven’t been able to accomplish.

Americans are hurting, scared and looking to their government officials to provide stability and security. Instead of trying to use this crisis to advance her favorite political priorities, Speaker Pelosi needs to drop her partisan charade and focus on delivering results for American families. I look forward to reviewing the bipartisan proposal the Senate is negotiating.
