Washington, D.C. – The Committee on Homeland Security, chaired by Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas), will hold a hearing entitled “The President’s FY 2014 Budget Request for the Department of Homeland Security” tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. in 311 Cannon House Office Building.
Chairman McCaul on the hearing: “As we have witnessed this week, acts of terror continue to threaten the homeland. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims of the bombings at the Boston Marathon and their families. We are grateful for the thousands of first responders and law enforcement officials who took quick action in the wake of this attack, saving many lives. We must remain vigilant; we cannot become complacent in the face of terror nor allow terrorists to influence our way of life or compromise our freedoms.
“I look forward to hearing from Secretary Napolitano on how the Administration plans to continue to support DHS’s counterterrorism and disaster preparedness and response efforts, in addition to the numerous challenges the Department must confront on other issues.”
