McCaul on President Trump’s Budget Proposal

WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Homeland Security Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX), released the following statement on the administration’s 2018 budget blueprint:

Chairman McCaul: “It is important to keep in mind that the President’s budget proposals are just the beginning of the negotiation process with Congress. As Chairman of the Homeland Security Committee, I will work with the Trump Administration and my colleagues to make sure our counterterrorism and cybersecurity programs, first responders, and those protecting our land, sea, and aviation sectors have the funds they need to defend our homeland and our citizens. Of note, the additional funds for border security and interior enforcement show this President truly understands these pressing challenges. The security of the American people is my top priority and I will make sure DHS is adequately funded to best protect America.”
