McCaul Prebuttal to State of the Union

WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Michael McCaul today released the following prebuttal to President Obama’s State of the Union address:

“President Obama came into office focused on ending—not winning—the war against Islamist terror. At the end of his presidency, we can now see clearly that retreat has put our nation in danger. Tonight the President has a responsibility as Commander in Chief to tell Americans how he will reverse the momentum of our enemies and secure our country in the highest terror threat environment since 9/11. He should also explain how he intends to deal with Russia’s aggression, China’s continued cyber attacks, Iran’s belligerence and support for terror, and North Korea’s recent provocations. Such countries have exploited the power vacuum created by this Administration’s disengagement, and only with renewed U.S. leadership can we make America safe against these threats.”
