WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) released the following statement regarding the announcement that Secretary Janet Napolitano will remain at DHS during President Obama’s second term.
Chairman McCaul: “The Department of Homeland Security faces many challenges in maintaining its ability to protect the American people. From the threat of cyber attacks to securing our border and transportation systems, DHS plays a critical role in developing and executing domestic policy. I look forward to working with Secretary Napolitano, and hope that she and this administration will commit to reforming DHS to be more efficient and effective in strengthening our defenses against terrorism, both from overseas and here at home.”
