Committee on Homeland Security to Hold Field Hearing Examining Election Security in Illinois
(WASHINGTON) – Next Tuesday, October 15th, Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) and Vice Chairwoman Lauren Underwood (D-IL) will hold a public field hearing in Gurnee, Illinois on election security. The Committee will hear from with local, state, and federal officials, as well as experts in the field, to examine the full scope of the potential threats to Illinois elections systems. The hearing will focus on the efforts made by the State of Illinois to secure their election infrastructure, Federal resources to support these efforts, challenges related to securing election infrastructure, and policy recommendations to improve election systems.
