POSTPONED: Leadership, Recruitment, and Retention: Examining Efforts by the United States Secret Service to Meet Mission Challenges
July 18, 2018 2:00 PM | HOUSE CAPITOL VISITOR CENTER (HVC) ROOM 210
POSTPONED to a time and date to be announced.
On April 25, 2017, President Trump appointed Randolph D. “Tex” Alles as the 25th Director of the United States Secret Service (USSS). Shortly after assuming his new position, Director Alles testified before the Subcommittee to discuss ongoing challenges within the agency and to articulate his priorities as Director. Specifically, Director Alles listed “leadership, morale, hiring, retention, and securing adequate resources” as his chief objectives for the agency during his tenure. The purpose of this hearing is to evaluate Director Alles’ progress towards achieving these goals since his last appearance before the Subcommittee. Members will have the opportunity to assess the specific steps that Director Alles has taken to engage and retain highly skilled employees, expand traditional recruiting efforts to actively market the USSS brand, and provide broad-based professional and leadership development initiatives.
