WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-Texas) announced Brendan Shields will join the Committee as Staff Director on April 1:

Chairman McCaul: "I am pleased to welcome Brendan Shields as the new Staff Director to the Committee. In many ways, he has been here from the beginning. Brendan served on the staff when it was established as the Select Committee on Homeland Security in 2002 and since that time has served in leadership roles for the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee and at both DHS and the Bush White House before going to the private sector. His more than 14 years of experience in homeland security policy, in addition to his service in the Navy supporting counterterrorism missions overseas, will make him a huge asset as he heads the Committee's many oversight and legislative responsibilities. I look forward to working with Brendan as we endeavor to better ensure the safety of this nation."
