Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep. Peter T. King (R-NY), Chairman of the Committee on Homeland Security, issued the following statement upon learning that U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, after a three-year investigation, decided he would not pursue criminal charges regarding alleged detainee abuse in Afghanistan in 2002:
“This investigation lasted entirely too long. I am relieved that it is over, and that no CIA officers will be charged. The Agency officers involved deserve the thanks of a grateful Nation for their service in Afghanistan and elsewhere.”
