Subcommittee Hearing: Agents of Opportunity: Responding to the Threat of Chemical Terrorism

March 19, 2015 1:30 PM | 311 Cannon House Office Building

Subcommittee Chairman Martha McSally, R-Ariz., on the hearing: “As we approach the 20th anniversary of the sarin attacks on the Tokyo subway, we are reminded that terrorists have repeatedly sought to deploy chemical agents in the course of their attacks. Given the rise of ISIS and the threat of homegrown Islamist extremism, we must ensure that our first responders are prepared to respond to chemical attacks. This hearing will provide members of the subcommittee with an opportunity to examine the threat of chemical terrorism and the steps being taken at the federal, state, and local government levels to address the threat of chemical attacks.”
